Data 4100 - Advanced Data Communications
– a
two day session constructed to provide a comprehensive, up-to date view
of telecommunications technology. The course is suited for developing
the basics for managing and/or administering voice & data networks. It
is also applicable for Users of telecommunications technology. The
course agenda is an overview of the Telecommunications basics, Network
Architecture, Telephone Termination Equipment, Wide Area Network Design,
Local Area Network Design, Enterprise Networking, High Speed Local Area
Networks, and the Internet. The attendee must have training in basic
data communications or related work experience.
Data 4200 – Concepts of TCP/IP,
is a two day session that confronts a subject of increasing interest and
importance to the information systems professionals involved in, or
interest in open architecture interoperability. This is due to the rapid
growth of the Internet and Client-server systems, and the need for
functional connectivity across Wide Area Networks. The course has been
designed for those responsible for managing and/or administering UNIX
and TCP/IP networks, and organizations involved in the implementation of
Internet access and the management of a Company Intranets. The program
discusses the Internet Layer (IP), the Host Layer (TCP and UDP), Process
and Application Layers, Telnet, FTP, and SMTP. Implementation issues
addressed are WAN and LAN environment comparisons, user interfaces,
interoperability, conformance testing, and network management. The
attendee should have good understanding of the Internet and routing
techniques.
Data 4300 - Concepts of Voice over IP
is a two day comprehensive course that covers all of the nuances of
implementing a VoIP for both the telephone company and the enterprise.
The attendee will attain a full understanding of the protocol suite and
an understanding of the importance of addressing techniques and masks
for both public and private IP networks.
The attendee should have
a good grounding in Telephony and Outside Plant.
Data 4400 - Fundamentals of Data Communications
is a three day
introductory level training session designed to provide
the attendee with a working knowledge of data communications and an
understanding of the theory behind the technology and how the various
technologies are used in today’s market.
Data 4500 - Designing your LAN -
is a three day
session that provides a concise, comprehensive, current view of computer
communications technology as applied to LAN’s, and interconnected LAN
systems. Elements of this program focus on understanding protocols,
Local Area Network hardware, Local Area Network software, High Speed
LAN’s, Metropolitan Area Networks, Switched Networks, and Integrated
Network Technologies. An understanding of basic data communications
would be very helpful to the attendee.
Data 4600 – DSL Technology
-
a two day session
covering all of the nuances, positives and negatives of DSL technology.
The objectives of the seminar are to introduce the student to basic DSL
technology concepts from a historical perspective and to describe how
DSL technology works in the existing local loops. The instructor will
also discuss emerging services and applications that have necessitated
greater bandwidth within the network and local loop. The class will also
develop detailed network models based on DSL services and gain an
understanding on how to promote DSL based services.
